About Fortrend Engineering: Founded in 1979 as an engineering consulting company, Fortrend specialized in automation system design for the semiconductor industry. Since 1989 Fortrend has supplied automation equipment for semiconductor device manufacturers, photo mask suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) and provides SMIF up grades to existing open cassette FABS. Fortrend provides the essential automation connections between different equipment and the factory delivery system

Major Job functions: In this role you will manage day-to-day activities, administration and situation control for to service all manufactured and installed Fortrend equipment. You will also lead, encourage and support personal development, efficiency, and productivity of field service employees. In addition, you will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to achieve smooth service and installation of new equipment. Functional relationships: Work with mechanical engineers, technicians, manufacturing, vendors, sales, marketing and other engineering personnel.

Education/Experience Required Skills:

 Minimum 10 years of experiences as a Field Service Engineer.
 Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial roll.
 Create detailed cost estimates; scheduling personnel, equipment, and work flow; and interfacing with customer to meet both customer and company expectations.
 Develop detailed procedures (may be operations, training, maintenance, qualification test, or inspection) for work on new and existing equipment and systems.
 Supervise field service crews comprised of engineers, technicians, and labor support at domestic and international semi-conductor sites.
 Prepare detailed reports for management and design engineering regarding equipment/systems defects or design deficiencies affecting installation and operations/performance.
 Work well in a team atmosphere with internal customers and peers.
 Well developed communication skills with ability to explain and discuss difficult information and to gain cooperation. Knowledge of field service and installation methods used within the semi-conductor industry.
 Read and understand mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings.
 Proficient in written and spoken English.
 Familiarity with Microsoft O/S (Win2k, WinXP Pro), and MS/Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).

Desirable Skills:

 OrCad.
 Solidworks.
 Machine Shop Skills.

Education: Bachelor Degree from accredited university or college minimum, Mechanical engineering or equivalent.

(TWO) Field Service Engineer (Salt Lake City, UT).

Job Description:

In this role you will act as the on site field service engineer and system installation engineer at a local Semi-Conductor FAB near Salt Lake City, UT. The position will be to support Fortrend’s installation base at the local FAB (>85% of the time) and other locations world wide as required (<15%).

As a Fortrend Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for installing and supporting systems at the customer location in a timely manner. As part of the field service engineers responsibilities at Fortrend your will aid in the assembly, testing and qualification of Fortrend products after the products have been shipped to the customer.

Relocation is not required as we are looking for a service engineer who lives in the general Salt Lake City area.

Any successful product installation requires certain amount of program management and prior program management experience is very valuable. This individual will be interfacing with the customers; therefore professionalism is an absolute must. Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, mechanical systems, various test and measurement equipments, clean room procedures and protocol’s, pneumatic systems, electrical codes, electronic principals and theory is highly desired. A high level of customer service skill is required with a balance of business acumen. It is essential that the applicant be a self-starter and a team player. Functional relationships: Work with mechanical engineers, technicians, manufacturing, vendors, sales, marketing and other engineering personnel.

Education/Experience Required Skills:

 Minimum 3 years of experiences as a Field Service Engineer.
 Understand pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.
 Clean room knowledge and experience.
 Knowledge of field service and installation procedures for Semiconductor equipment.
 Interface directly with end user customers to provide technical presentations and consultation for the development of fully integrated systems.
 Work with customers, field sales, technical support and corporate engineering to resolve escalated problems.
 Manage small or custom installation projects
 Train customers on basic operation of the Fortrend system
 Perform other duties as assigned

Support field service and trouble shoot/repair equipment. Some design using Solidworks, Visio and Autocad.

Functional relationships: Work with and support engineers, technicians, manufacturing, vendors, sales, marketing.

Required Skills:

● 5 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related discipline
